Maggi Sizzler – this sizzler is a treat for all maggi lovers – 4 Maggi flavoured dishes in one

Sizzlers are everyone’s favourite and what more one wants if it’s their favourite yummy maggi noodle flavoured sizzler. A combination of Maggi potato patty, Maggi rice, Maggi masala flavoured stir fried veggies and Maggi masala flavoured tomato-onion sauce, all of it served piping hot on a sizzler plate. Sounds yum…right??

We got the idea of making this sizzler when we saw a contest on BetterButter. In that contest, we had to submit recipes prepared using Maggi Noodles. We were thinking about making something different from maggi noodles and so this idea came up. This recipe won a consolation prize at the BetterButter Memories of Maggi Contest.

Ingredients (1 cup = 240 ml)

For Maggi Potato Patty

  • 1 big-sized potato boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • an inch piece of ginger grated
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon maggi tastemaker
  • ¼ teaspoon coriander powder/dhania powder
  • ¼ teaspoon jeera/cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chaat masala
  • salt to taste
  • ½ maggi noodles packet 35 grams
  • 1 teaspoon oil for shallow frying patty

For Maggi Rice

  • ½ cup cooked rice
  • 1 packet maggi noodles 70 grams with tastemaker
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 to mato chopped
  • ½ carrot chopped
  • ¼ cup peas
  • ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 cup water
  • salt to taste

For the Maggi Masala Flavoured Tomato-Onion Sauce

  • ½ teaspoon oil
  • 1-2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 to mato chopped
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ¼ teaspoon maggi masala tastemaker
  • salt to taste

For Stir Fried Vegetables

  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 carrot cut into 1 inch strips
  • 10-15 french beans cut into 1 inch pieces
  • salt to taste
  • maggi tastemaker to sprinkle

For Assembling Sizzler

  • 1-2 teaspoon oil/butter
  • few lettuce/cabbage leaves

Instructions

For Maggi Potato Patty

  • Cook ½ packet maggi noodles in 105 ml water with a pinch of salt. Keep aside.

  • Take boiled and mashed potato in a deep bowl.

  • Add chopped green chilli, grated ginger, chopped onion and all the dry spice powders - coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala, maggi tastemaker and salt.

  • Mix well and form into a patty shape.

  • Coat the patty with cooked maggi noodles and press lightly.

  • Heat oil on a flat non-stick tava. Put the patty on it and shallow fry the patty from both sides till slightly golden.

For Maggi Rice

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add chopped onions and saute till onions turn transparent.

  • Then add tomatoes and saute for 1-2 minutes.

  • Now add peas, carrots, maggi noodles and 1 cup water.

  • Cook for about a minute and then add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, maggi tastemaker and salt. Mix well.

  • Once noodles gets completely cooked, add cooked rice and mix well.

  • Remove from flame. Set aside.

For the Maggi Masala flavoured Tomato-Onion Sauce

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add finely chopped onions and garlic. Saute till onions turn transparent and raw smell of garlic and onion goes away.

  • Now add chopped tomato and cook till tomatoes becomes pulpy.

  • In the end add tomato ketchup, maggi tastemaker, black pepper powder and salt.

For Stir Fried Vegetables

  • Heat butter in a non-stick pan and add carrots and french beans. Sprinkle salt and maggi tastemaker and stir fry the vegetables until al dente. They should not be over cooked.

  • Once done, keep the vegetables aside.

Assembling the Sizzler

  • Heat sizzler plate over an open flame till it is hot. Once the plate is hot, place it on a wooden tray.

  • Grease the plate with a little butter, place few cabbage leaves or lettuce leaves on the plate. Place the prepared Maggi Potato Patty on one side, Stir Fried Vegetables in the center and Maggi Rice on the other side.

  • Top it with maggi masala flavoured tomato-onion sauce and more butter and serve immediately along with the sizzling effect.
